PAGSANJAN TOURISM POLICE FORCE (PTPF)

I.         BACKGROUND

      One of the major programs of the present Local Administration is to make Pagsanjan once again, a premiere world-class tourist destination. To achieve this goal, the incidents of crimes and abuses against tourists, investors and foreign visitors has to be totally eradicated. There is a need to protect these travelers and enhance the general peace and order situation in our tourist-based town, hence, the PTPF was conceptualized and created. This undertaking aims to protect the overall tourist and investment climate and positive image of Pagsanjan here in our country and abroad.

II.         OBJECTIVES
  1. To ensure the safety and security of both local and foreign tourists visiting Pagsanjan.
  2. To render assistance to tourists and bangkeros when necessary.
  3. To promote the Tourism Industry of Pagsanjan.
III.         COMPOSITIONS

      The PAGSANJAN TOURISM POLICE FORCE (PTPF) shall be composed of members of the Pagsanjan Municipal Police Station who will be under the direct supervision of the Municipal Mayor and the Chief of Police.

IV.         DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES OF THE PAGSANJAN TOURISM POLICE FORCE

      The PAGSANJAN TOURISM POLICE FORCE shall have the following powers and function:
  1. Enforce and implement all laws and ordinances relative to the protection of all tourists (and their properties / belongings) who come and visit Pagsanjan and the Pagsanjan Gorge Tourist Zone.
  2. Maintain peace and order and enforce all necessary precautionary measures to ensure the safety and security of all tourists and bangkeros within Pagsanjan especially in the First-Aid and Rescue operations and other emergency cases.
  3. Patrol / guard / follow-up / monitor Rizal St. and Gen Taiño St., Bumbungan River and Balanac River, and the movements of tourists and bangkeros in these areas.
  4. Investigate / review and file appropriate cases for tourist and bangkero related incidents.
  5. Provide security and escorts for VIP's or foreign tourists, if necessary.
  6. Ensure linkages with other law enforcement authorities.
  7. Enforce the Anti-Flagging Law and confiscate placards saying "Pagsanjan Falls" from boatmen.
